Update on the Raphael Semmes statue from Mobile, Alabama

“EXCITING BREAKING NEWS! The Admiral Raphael Semmes pedestal that was illegally removed from downtown Mobile, Alabama has been re-erected at Fort McDermott in Spanish Fort, Alabama! The city is keeping the original statue of Raphael Semmes on display at Mobile’s History museum (see comment section), but a replica of the statue is expected to be delivered in about a month from now! The impressive monument is in good hands. A dedication ceremony is expected later this year.”

See the entire post, along with pictures of the pedestal in its new location, here (via Dixie Forever).
